Off-Brand Opera is thrilled to invite audiences to a talkback with Jane Eyre’s Tony-nominated composer and lyricist Paul Gordon. Join us immediately following the Friday, January 19 performance of Jane Eyre for a question and answer session about the origins and development of the production.

ABOUT JANE EYRE

In this musical adaptation of Charlotte Brontë’s 19th century masterpiece, the titular heroine struggles to balance her morals with her desire for freedom as she flees a traumatic childhood. Finding escape as a governess at Thornfield Hall and meeting the house’s brooding master, Jane must choose between the life she wants and what she believes is right.

Off-Brand Opera’s production of Jane Eyre highlights the moral complexity of a young woman’s struggle with self-determination. By inviting the audience to inhabit multiple characters’ perspectives and rationales, this production explores the challenge and meaning of love, faith, and forgiveness.

Jane Eyre’s sweeping and evocative score seamlessly integrates classical and contemporary musical traditions, and this production’s story is given deeper dimension by performers trained in both opera and musical theatre.
