Off-Brand Opera’s [lab] concert of all-new scenes of opera and musical theater returns to Brooklyn Art Haus! This annual concert features a program of all-new work by up-and-coming NYC composers as well as resident OBO artists. Off-Brand Opera’s [lab] programming is an opportunity for audiences to get to know the company in an intimate performance setting while previewing work from next season’s offerings.

At the 2025 [lab] concert, eight featured composers present 10-minute scenes from a diverse range of genres, from pop musical theater to contemporary opera. These scenes are fully-staged and directed by members of Off-Brand Opera’s Directing Workshop, a program intended to guide emerging directors through the experience of working on new material in partnership with our composers.
